Who we are
Vehicle Engineering Analysis is the vehicle engineering and expert witness practice of Roger Newby LLM BSc (Hons) AMIMechE, working from London and Manchester. The practice was established in 2026; the engineering behind it was not.

Status
Vehicle Engineering Analysis provides independent engineering opinion to courts, tribunals, solicitors, insurers and parties. It is not a regulated legal practice, does not carry out reserved legal activities and does not give legal advice. An expert's overriding duty is to the court, not to the party instructing or paying.
Roger Newby is an Associate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and is listed on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses as a vetted expert (view the register entry). Vetted means instructing lawyers have recommended the expert to the register. Membership of a professional institution and listing on a register are statements of standing; they are not endorsements of any individual opinion, and no court or regulator "approves" experts. "Forensic" on this site means engineering applied to legal proceedings; it describes the work, not a title or an accreditation. The practice does not hold itself out as providing forensic science activities within the Forensic Science Regulator's Code of Practice.
When an instruction exists
No instruction exists, and no opinion is given on any case, until written terms of engagement have been agreed. Enquiries, provisional dates and proposals do not create an instruction or any obligation on either side.

Fraud warning: bank details
Our bank details never change during an instruction. If you receive an email, message or call saying that our account details have changed, treat it as fraudulent. Do not transfer money. Contact us using the details you already hold, not those given in the message, and verify directly before sending any payment.
